My husband made fun of Dirty Dancing for years until I finally made him watch it - and he had to admit it was good.

dirty dancing is one of my daughter's favorites, so i have seen it many times since she was born----it's funny, she found a lost cd of the soundtrack to it just yesterday!!

I love Sweet! I'm a glam rock girl at heart. I was at a music festival with my kids last weekend, and a Meatloaf lookalike sang Little Willy. The kids were highly amused, and just a little incredulous... time for the greatest hits album to come out again lol
Hitchhiker's Guide was such fun, I loved it.
Hmm...Dirty Dancing is the only thing here that I recognize. And I didn't even see that until my late high school years. I think my mom thought it would corrupt me or something :)
I still love Dirty Dancing and I watch it every time I catch it on the TV lineup. Great choice!

You did lead a sheltered life! I had a childhood like that as well, but I was allowed to go out with a girl who was my third cousin and her folks were close family friends as well and so she was trusted. Our parents would pay for taxis to take us to the movies, we would catch another taxi and go to parties or dances. A bit of a bad girl at the time!

I was nearly literally dragged to see "Dirty Dancing" by my then girlfriend. I thought I would hate it but actually wound up liking it. As for your book, yes, it was an awesome read.
