What have I to say about being insecure with my writing?
Lucky for me, not too much this month.

Everything is running smoothly.

I could complain about time, or should I say the lack of it, but I am learning we all have to deal with that aspect of life.

My blog tour is going smoothly, but I am amazed at the amount of work there is behind the scenes and as usual, I have linked to too many hops, and my desire to visit everyone on the Linky lists is never fulfilled.

I do not know how I would be able to operate without Google Calendar, it really works for me. Being organized is important to me and I rely heavily on keeping my blogging commitments by using this service.  Without it I would be swimming up river never achieving anything just like a trout.

Are there devices you rely on to help you?

This month during my tour, I also approached the Goodreads group of which I am a member, offering copies of my books for review. The moderator was lovely and terribly efficient, but sending out approximately 20 books for free at once is a hard thing to do.

What amazed me was the range in the reviews I recieved - from 2 stars to 4's and 5's.  One of the 2 star reviews emailed me offering critique pointers, which when I read through, I could not see fault with.   Reading through her posted review, I found her English to be quite poor with obvious spelling mistakes, missing words and other grammatical errors.

Even though I can shrug off the review, those 2 stars are there to stay!

How does one cope with these types of reviews?
Is there anything that can be done, or do I turn the other cheek and forget it?

Think of that 2 star review as validation of your other reviews. When I see a book that has only 4 and 5 star reviews, it's a warning that only the author's friends have reviewed the book.

Unfortunately, I can't offer any advice on reviews because I haven't gotten to that point yet.

Your comment about Google Calendar make me laugh because my significant other thinks like you. He doesn't know what he'd do without it, and gets irritated with me because I stick with my wall calendar.

ack! must be so frustrating to read a bad review with all those errors! and there you have its worth.

speaking from no experience, i think a few bad reviews makes the book more valuable - not just your fans read it. it's more substantial with "real" feedback. it's the majority that matters overall, like grades in school - a clunker now and then wont tank your average =)

glad your tour is going well!

Everyone has an opinion when it comes to reviews. Just be glad someone took the time to look at your book, take a breath and move on. Yes we all can overschedule ourselves sometimes but like you I have also created a calendar of sorts to keep me on the right track. Also my blog schedule helps. Good WIP post, best of luck with your tours.

We use Google calendar for home, and I use it for work. It's great to have all the information color coded in one spot. Congrats on the smooth tour. Yep, there is LOTS of work behind the scenes.

Glad to hear your tour's going well!

I think others will see those mistakes in her review as well and discredit the review. Don't worry about it. Go read a couple of my poor reviews if you need a good laugh.

L. Dianne - That is definitely a positive way of looking at it, thanks!

M.J. - Yes, that is me!

Tara - Thanks Tara, that is true!

Sheena-Kay - Thanks, I would be lost without my calendar!

Ciara - Thanks for the visit.

Nicole - Thank you.

Alex - Might just do that!

Turn the other cheek and forget it. Your book is going to get a wide range of opinions and reactions. Not all will be good. That's a fact of book life. My first low review I looked at as another writing milestone.

Unfortunately, I think some people must feel the power behind their reviews. Sorry, but being kind is more important to me. I wouldn't review a book if I thought it was a 2. It's all subjective anyway. Nothing you can do, just turn the other cheek.

UGH! That'd be so frustrating with the review. Alex makes a good point that others might see her review filled with mistakes and ignore it. You know your work is fabulous and that's what matters at the end of the day. :)

Patricia-Lynne - Thanks for the encouragement.

Gwen - Yes that is very true!
