Rex kept flashing targets at him - anyone crossing his path, anyone who seemed armed - and he fisted his hands not to pull his gun. They swung at his sides as he sprinted down the avenue and turned into the quiet of a narrow street, the stitch in his side moving up, reaching his heart.
