MONSTROUS MONDAY

The rules are really simple.

  2. Grab a button and link back to my site
  3. Post your Monster on Monday October 29th 2012!
That's it!

What kind of Monster?  Well that is up to you really.  I am going to be posting Monster stats.  You can do that, or post a monster you like/love/hate, or tell us about the monster in your new book coming out.  Anything would be great really.

OF COURSE YOU ALL MUST HAVE SOME IDEA WHAT
MONSTER I WOULD CHOSE TO
POST?
OF COURSE,
A VAMPIRE!
 BUT WHICH
VAMPIRE
IN PARTICULAR?

Major Works in Vampire Literature Published in 1800s

TOO MANY
TO DECIDE ON JUST ONE!

 SOME VAMP FACTS:
  1.  All major vampire literature works were published in the 1800's
  2.  Vampirism does actually exist - Porphyria is a rare, metabolic disorder which stops those affected from producing Haemoglobin. Causing the affected to be sensitive to sunlight, gums recede and teeth become prominent.
  3. The legends date back to creatures of Hebrew mythology to the one named "Lillith," Adam's first wife. She was known to drink the blood of the first born.
  4. The Hungarians also named a restless corps, Nosferatu, which in 1443 meant "the undead."
  5. Other ancient races also had legends of similar mythical creatures - The Egyptian's - Lillith /  Babalonian'sThe winged Ekimu / Greeks - Lamia (a beautiful woman who drank blood) / Ther Romans - a blood thirsty demon called "Strager."
  6. The vampire legends also stem back to the fourteenth century to the Black Plague, where villagers blamed the undead for the cause of the plague.

My choice would be Blade!

Why thank you for the visual pleasure this morning. Too many to choose from indeed. ;)

Cool facts. I would imagine those who suffered from that condition back in the day were unfairly persecuted much like "witches". It's funny how things people didn't understand got classified as evil...

You're right too many to choose from! Great choice though. Although, I do have a like for Spike! :)

Nice vampire facts. Anne Rice writes great vampire books and her vampires rock on screen.

They all have one thing in common, that's for sure. I also really liked the look of Antonio Banderas in Interview with a Vampire. Very dreamy and hypnotic.

Wow, look at all those hunky vamps! Isn't it strange that all the cultures across the world have their own version of a vampire? Makes you think...

Fantastic!

I did Vampires as well. So much that you can say about them to be honest.

I am so glad you participated in my little blogfest. I love seeing what everyone has been posting.

I couldn't choose one either! Though right now, I'll happily take Eric Northman!

Alex - I can understand that.

Nicki - I am glad you like your morning peep show.

Nick & Gwen - It certainly makes you think, doesn't it.

Tim - Yes I noticed as I hopped around a comment you made about liking vampires.

Christine, Joylene, Sheena-kay and Yolanda - Yes they are all nice to look at.

Some sexy vampires there. I still love Chris Sarandon's vampire in Fright Night.
