Hi everyone and welcome to my letter "H" post for the A-Z Challenge. I am posting teasers from a new book I am developing titled, "Forces of Mist" a science fiction, dystopian story for a New Adult audience.
These teasers are in no particular order, so as not to give the story away. I hope you enjoy!
How the hell had he known that I would be there to organise a recorded message directed to me personally? Sarah thought and then found herself distracted by the use of his word ‘gorgeous’, did he actually think she was?
Shaking her head, she refocused on the rest of the message, as it played on.
“… Yes, I am able to see into my future and I knew you would be waiting, pressed up against the wall as you were, looking so hot!” He winked. “Not my entire race has this ability, only a small number like I exist.” He paused, before continuing.
“It is imperative that you ensure your commanders are informed of the information contained in this message. They must switch their communication devices back to the out dated analogue system, prior to the digital network. They must do this before the detonation of our disabling device or all hope of survival for your species will be lost.”
Jackson’s image seemed to plead directly to her, before his message continued, “… and we might never have a chance to get to know each other and that would be a serious shame.” Sarah could not believe her ears and eyes. Was he actually trying to help the Earthlings stop his species conquest over the planet? Why? What did he have to gain? Or was Jackson simply laying the foundations for a trap, intending to use her as a means to spring it.
She looked at his face displayed on the small com monitor and weighed up her options.
Should I follow his request, or ignore it? If I ignore it, would there be consequences?
Deliberating for only a short moment, her attention was once again focused back to the small monitor.

Ah, a dilemma. Who to trust? Makes me wonder how she will solve it.
Returning your visit to my blog, thanks for dropping by.

Love it :-) This will be one of those books that once I start reading I won't be able to put it down.
Well, he sounds like quite the charmer ;) I am very intrigued, and, of course, am interested in what *he* looks like!
This must sounds superficial, but I am a girl.
I recently had my husband and sister read the same manuscript. My husband went through, pointed out some plot holes and things. My sister called me after reading only thirty pages and without even saying hello, she asked, "Are they gonna do it?"
Of course, her biggest complaint was not enough love story. My husband thought there was too much.
So yes. I am very interested in the potential love story here!
Interesting scene! :)
Oh goodness, that IS a tough spot she's in. Never trust a sweet-talker, that's what I say.
I'm intrigued by the title of your book... and this is a great excerpt too!

Yikes. Sarah has a dilemma. Is she damned if she does and damned is she doesn't?

sounds like she resolved her dilemma
A good teaser that makes you want to know what will happen next.
Is it a trick or genuine? Either way, she needs to tell someone.
Can't ignore being called gorgeous, now can you? Enjoyed your excerpt.
Just stopping by to say Hi from the A-Z list and good luck with the rest of the challenge :) xx
