EXPRESS YOURSELF

Hosts
and

This week we are to list 5 imperfections about yourself
that might bug the hell out of those around you
and yourself as well.

  1.  My main annoying habit, which I just cannot seem to curb is during conversations, i tend to butt in with my thoughts instead of politely waiting for the person/s to finish what they are saying.  I know this is annoying and I don't do this to be rude, it is just that I find that if I don't get out what my thoughts are at that moment, then and there, I will get lost in some other vital piece of info and tend to forget what I wanted to way previously.
  2. I frequently make a mess of myself when eating and avoid wearing white, because of this annoying habit.  I seem to loose my food from my fork on the way to my mouth and it really does annoy me!
  3.  I am a bit of a recluse. I am quite happy with my own company and don't seem to need other people or places to be entertained.  This really annoys my husband as he is someone who loves the company of others.
  4.  I put the cleanliness of my home, before going out to socialize.  I need to learn how to balance this aspect of my life better.
  5.  I am sure my neighbours would say that they are annoyed by how I like to play music loud and the type of music I like to listen to. (indie rock, punk, scream-o)

Happy endings are hard to find, and even though Katriona is in the middle of a war with someone who’s already stolen more than she can replace, she aches for a positive future with her Draíochtans.

Armed with hope, confidence in her abilities, and a strange new gift from her mother, Kate ventures into the Darkness to defeat a fallen god.

Losses add up, and new obstacles rise to stand in the way. Is the one determined to bring Encardia light strong enough to keep fighting, or will all the sacrifices to stop those who seek domination be for nothing?

About the Author: Krystal Wade can be found in the sluglines outside Washington D.C. every morning, Monday through Friday. With coffee in hand, iPod plugged in, and strangers--who sometimes snore, smell, or have incredibly bad gas--sitting next to her, she zones out and thinks of fantastical worlds for you and me to read. How else can she cope with a fifty mile commute?

Good thing she has her husband and three kids to go home to. They keep her sane.

#FRIDAY FLASH - THE FORCES OF MIST (PART 5)

THE FORCES OF MIST
(Part 5)

By Carolyn Brown

(A 480 word Sci-fi saga)

Jackson’s vehicle somehow merged with the force field and shortly after they were outside the entrance of an underground tunnel, which led beneath the complex. The entrance had been fortified with security codes, which Jackson had no trouble unlocking and soon they were driving through the opening.

Sandy began to inwardly panic, as they progressed even further into the complex.  She felt disappointed that Jackson was going to betray her and hand her over to the enemy.  For some reason, she had been sure that he had been as attracted to her as she had been to him, now she felt disappointed with her assumption.

It must have been some game he had played to gain her attention, but why?  Had he not arrived in time to rescue her from the attack on the complex she had been hiding in, she would be already dead.

Lots of questions surfaced in her thoughts before the craft stopped and the motor died.  They were now parked in the back of an underground parking lot, in a darker area than most.

Sandy began to ask Jackson why they were parked here then she saw the slight shake of his head, as if to tell her not to speak.  He opened the vehicle and climbed out, smoothed down his clothes, walked to her side of the car and offered her his hand, helping her to disembark.

As she lent over closer to his body with the odd angle of decent, Jackson whispered into her ear, “Play the game, everything will be fine!”

Sandy quickly looked up into his face and noticed his wink, before others of his race gathered around them, forming a tight circle, “Fall aside, this one is my ‘personal’ prisoner!” Jackson commanded, flashing some type of device at the beings gathered around them and to her amazement they departed, allowing him to escort her into an elevator, situated close by.

Sandy was about to question him and he quickly stood close, facing his back to a camera mounted on the opposite wall to hide her face, he placed his finger to her mouth to silence her.  She suppressed the urge to bite it.

The elevator doors opened, Jackson grabbed Sandy by the wrist and forcibly pushed her through the opening. There was no one around, but he continued to show his control as they walked along the corridor.

At a door near the end of the hall they stopped, Jackson placed his hand on a panel and the door they were standing in front of slid open, a slight swishing noise was heard as the vacuum in the room was released.

They stepped through the door and it closed behind them.  Jackson turned to Sandy, “This is why I have brought you here.  I need you to see this.”
